Sunidhi Chauhan (born Nidhi Chauhan on 14 August 1983) is an Indian playback singer, best known for her Hindi film songs in Bollywood. She has also recorded songs for Punjabi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati films .

Chauhan began to sing at the age of four and was discovered by a local TV anchor. She won recognition through a televised singing contest, Meri Awaz Suno, which she won, and made her entrance into playback singing with the Hindi film Shastra.

Her breakthrough was Ram Gopal Varma's film Mast, in which she sang the hit song, "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi. " She has been nominated for fourteen Filmfare Awards, winning it on two occasions as well as a Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. She has won two Star Screen Awards, two IIFA Awards and one Zee Cine Award.

Early career

Sunidhi Chauhan was born in Delhi. She started her singing career as a child, giving her first performance at the age of four, in a local temple in Delhi. She did her early studies in Greenway Modern Sr. Sec. School, Dilshad Garden in Delhi. Thereafter, she began to participate in, and sing for, competitions and local gatherings. When local TV anchor, Tabassum, spotted her talent, her family shifted to Mumbai in a bid to further develop the young singer's skills, and Chauhan became the lead singer in Kalyanji's 'Little Wonders' troupe.

Recognition first met her in 1996, through the music show Meri Aawaz Suno — the first such televised contest in India — which was broadcast through the Indian national television channel, Doordarshan. She won the competition and bagged the top prize of recording an album, Aira Ghaira Nathu Khaira, with HMV.

Himesh Reshammiya (born 23 July 1973) is an Indian music director, singer, actor, television producer, lyricist, film producer, script writer, and distributor.

Himesh Reshammiya was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh to veteran Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya and Madhu Reshammiya; however his family originate from Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Reshammiya studied at Hill Grange High School in Pedder Road where he met his best friend Prashant Chadha. Chadha is responsible for Reshammiya's new look and for directing all of his music videos from his private album Aap Kaa Surroor as well as promotional videos for the movies Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar and Tom, Dick & Harry. At the age of 16 before Reshammiya went into music direction, he produced television serials for Zee TV which included serials such as Andaz and Amar Prem.

In his debut film as an actor, Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story, Reshammiya added a song Tanhaiyaan from Boney Kapoor's proposed film Milenge Milenge. Initially, Reshammiya had composed the song for Kapoor's film but later decided to use it for his own movie. Tips, which held the audio rights of Milenge Milenge, accused Reshammiya of copyright violation, as audio rights for Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story were acquired by T-Series. However, Reshammiya defended himself saying that he had made Kapoor listen to the song, but it was not included in Milenge Milenge. He also claimed to have tried to get in touch with Kapoor for seven months, and since there was no progress on the film, he decided to use the song for his own movie.

Shreya Ghoshal (born March 12, 1984) is an Indian singer. Best known as a playback singer in Hindi films, she also sings in other Indian languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada,Marathi, Oriya, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.Ghoshal's career began when she won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest as an adult. Her Bollywood playback singing career began with Devdas, for which she received National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer along with Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.Since then, she has received many other awards. Ghoshal was also honored from the U.S. state of Ohio, wherein governor Ted Strickland declared June 26 as "Shreya Ghoshal Day".

Biography

Ghoshal was born to a Bengali Hindu family in Durgapur, West Bengal. She grew up in Rawatbhata, a small town near Kota, Rajasthan. Her father, Biswajeet Ghoshal, is a nuclear power plant engineer and has worked for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India, and her mother is a literature post-graduate.At the age of four, Ghoshal accompanied her mother on the harmonium. She got training in Hindustani classical music by Maheshchandra Sharma in Kota.As a child, she won the children's special episode of the Sa Re Ga Ma (now Sa Re Ga Ma Pa) contest on Zee TV. Kalyanji, who also judged the competition, convinced her parents to move to Mumbai.She was trained by Kalyanji for 18 months and she continued her classical music training with Mukta Bhide in Mumbai.

She studied at Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata and Anushaktinagar, Mumbai. After graduation she enrolled at SIES College.

Career

Ghoshal caught the attention of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for a second time, this time as an adult.In 2000, Bhansali offered her the opportunity to be the voice of Paro, the lead female character of the film Devdas, that was portrayed by Aishwarya Rai. Ghoshal sang five songs in the film. Her performance won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, as well as Filmfare's RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. She also won the National Film Award for the song "Bairi Piya".

She has received State Film Awards from Malayalam, Tamil industries and Filmfare awards in Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu industries. She debuted in South through the song "Yen Chellam" in Vasantha Balan's Tamil film Album and she got response after singing "Munbe Vaa" from Sillunu Oru Kaadhal under composer A. R. Rahman.She debuted in Malayalam through a studio album of composer Alphons Joseph and later gave voice to his song "Vida Parayukayano" from Big B.Her songs in Malayalam film Anwar became hits in Kerala and topped many charts for weeks. In 2010, Ghoshal sang for the English independent film When Harry Tries to Marry.

She has also been a judge for Star Voice Of India-Chhote Ustaad with singer Kunal Ganjawala and composer Pritam.Ghoshal was one of the three judges in X Factor (India) with Sonu Nigam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
